June 21, 2024June 22, 2024 My first half year as an MVP I got chosen as an Microsoft Most Valuable Person, MVP, in early days of January. That day was memorable. Many people notified it and I felt that finally I’m accepted as a professional what I’m doing for a living and also (sometimes) as a hobby. My way was the hard way to get in. I joined the Security Community first time in 2021 and started to participate those security calls and do those assignments. I was nominated first time in late 2022 but I was not chosen. I decided in April 2023 that I will prioritize my time for these. I did even more than previous year and I also started blogging. I ended up to the security community video of most achieved persons. 🙂 I did not know that then but I think it was a sign. There are easier ways to get the title but as always my hard-working method worked for me.Immediately after selection I got an invitation to the Microsoft Global MVP Summit which was held in mid March in Redmond, WA. That was an event which other MVP’s have always told and shared their experiences through the LinkedIn.It was nice to find my own name from the blanket. It was possible to see and talk almost all Microsoft Security CCP Community PM’s and other people and of course all those fellow MVPs who I have learned to know through those security calls and assignments in the community.Btw you can join too, it’s never too late since the MS products and features will always develop. https://aka.ms/joinccp The second thing so far have been an invitation to have a speech in Microsoft Partner Architecture event which was held in the mid June. It was personally a milestone since I have never ever speak to public crowd. I got a lot of self-confidence and courage. Third thing was kind of Kickoff event for the future program with Microsoft Security Finland and Security MVPs. Stay tuned. September will bring something to the community. If you are interested becoming an MVP here‘s the place to start. It might not be easy ( I had to apply two times) but it’s possible. Good luck! But I can promise it’s worth all the work you have done for it. I have got a lot of new friends and those are very important for me. I like being in the community.Since the selection I have helped other people in many ways as I promised.
